My name is Jim and I am fast becomming an addict. I did the 2 day CSS camp this summer. Not only did I learn a sh*t load of stuff but I came out bit by the track bug BIG TIME!

Next thing I know I find a used Triumph Daytona on ebay to add to my stable as a track bike. My wife is thrilled at the addition of another motorcycle in the garage but..."what can I do baby I'm an addict?"

I did my first track day with this bike on Sunday 11/15. Even though it was somewhat of a crash fest I had a great time...still have a huge grin on my face.

Problem is the season is over here in the NE and I want to keep going. What do you guys recommend for doing days over the winter that would be accessable from NJ? Would I have to travel all the way to Fla (which I would be willing to do) or are there other opportunities?

Anyway I've been checking out this site as well as a Triumph site. I've already got some good info here and look forward to learning more from rearsets to tires, to bodywork to body position.

Welcome fellow Trumpet whore :toocool:

I'm the token Daytona guy here so it's good to have some campany!

Stick around, it's a good and tight knit group here. A lot of the guys are at CMP this weekend, rest of us just jonesing in front of our computers

Mike

Dude...My habit for all of my bikes is OTC. For the track I'm getting real familiar with STG website and speaking with Nick.

I guess my name will be "RideIfNotBroke"

Golf has some similarities to track riding (or any riding for that matter) - just without the extreme rush.

In golf having patience, sound technique and consistency are important. There is a saying . "Hit the ball far for show...have a good short game and putt for the dough".

In riding, favor things like body position, throttle control, line and consistency over speed.

Anyway...enough of my rambling :bs: This does seem like a cool site.

BTW - I don't play much golf anymore.

if you talk to Nick @ STG make sure to tell him you're from our little part of the world - he's been doing a good job of wheeling and dealing for the guys here - and be sure to tell that SOB I said Hi.

it's been at least a month since I "needed" something from there, withdrawl, lol.

I suck at golf, always did, probably because I never tried it sober
