Looks Great!! Can't wait to see the finished product.

The list of things to do on these bikes is never ending though.

Be careful removing stock wiring, try not to damage it. When I was converting my ZX6 to track I got a little carried away removing things and got some fuel injection warning lights. I had to reinstall some parts to get the lights out. Just a couple of pieces that weren't being used anymore, but completed a circuit.

I'm actually there with ya...that happened on a friends bike. For this one i'll just be removing anything that has a connector on it that will not be used anymore. Like the harness that is for the tail light, turnsignals and license plate light. Probably the headlight wiring too.

That's what I'm doing with my '07. I just did the front harness and removed all headlight, turn signal, marker light pigtails and routed it up through the pins. So far, so good. In the process, I've dropped about 5 pounds of unnecessary wiring from the bike.

When you're doing it, it's best to have the service manual with you so you can reference any wires in question. I wound up removing three pins in the connectors as there wasn't anything left to connect on them.

i trimmed off a lot of stuff out of the 675 harness, but you do have to be really careful with what you take out.

Updated pics...put the bodywork on today...all nice and painted up.

now I have to decide on what color to make the number plates. I think white would look the best but there is a slight possibility of trying to do either a wera race or ccs and they both require yellow for novice.

excellent! I think yellow plates would look good either way. more "pop" than white.

Looks good. Are those the original foot controls? Looks like you replaced the peg. But, the bracket looks original. Also, if this is strictly going to be track only, remove the rear footpegs. If you need the right side for the exhaust, remove the peg itself. The left side, remove entirely.

i think he's planning to do some 2-up laps with his wife - thus the rear pegs.

mine won't even get on the back of a bike, not to mention at the track.

That's cool they do that. :) I don't think I could ever want to put my wife on the back of an R1 on the track. I took her out a few times on the street years ago and she didn't like it and neither did I.

Looks good except its another black bike. :-o
I would remove the rear pegs and put them back on when needed. Its one less thing to break off if you bin it.

The rearsets are stock except they are solid mount woodcraft pegs. I hate folding pegs and swapped them out years ago.

Yeah I know about the passenger pegs...didn't get to them yet. Tomorrow is another day of working in the garage and get more things ready for the track so maybe they will come off tomorrow.

Yeah we are planning on doing a few 2 - up laps but i'll still take the pegs off since when she's on the back i'll have to swap out the rear and put the passenger seat on anyway. Thank goodness it's an easy swap over.
