Well here is the start...have all the track plastics mounted. The front fender, upper and lower are from Armour Bodies (got the set from the Nesba/Woodcraft deal). Only problem was the tail was designed for a 98 subframe on an 02-03 frame...so it didn't fit, Armour Bodies refunded me $200 for the tail and I bought the replacement from oppracing.com. It's a macmotto. All the pieces mounted up with no problems at all...just drilled the dimples and on it went.

Work to be done yet...

Paint the bodywork - duh
Rebuild Forks
Rebuild Shock
Replace Brake Pads
Replace Tires
Install StompGrips
Remove more unneeded stock wiring
Clean and Safety Wire

I don't think spring will be here soon enough.

SWEET! Post more pics as she comes together. I hate to say it but I like wrenching on these things almost as much as I like riding them.
I miss having the 675 project I had last winter - I'm build a nice porch swing for Jules instead, lol.

It originally had the flame paint job from the factory, they were subtle but looked good. Most likely i'll get it blacked out with white number plates and then add some track wraps to it later to spice it up. Not 100% sure yet.

Yeah only problem is that we used to have a working torpedo heater...now I have 3 little heaters that just aren't keeping the garage warm enough to work for more than an hour. It's a 1200Sq ft garage...without heat so you can image how cold it gets...haha.

Looks Great!! Can't wait to see the finished product.

The list of things to do on these bikes is never ending though.

Be careful removing stock wiring, try not to damage it. When I was converting my ZX6 to track I got a little carried away removing things and got some fuel injection warning lights. I had to reinstall some parts to get the lights out. Just a couple of pieces that weren't being used anymore, but completed a circuit.

I'm actually there with ya...that happened on a friends bike. For this one i'll just be removing anything that has a connector on it that will not be used anymore. Like the harness that is for the tail light, turnsignals and license plate light. Probably the headlight wiring too.

Going vinyl for the white number plates.
