Finally got it broken in this week with all the nice weather we have been having...figured i'd take some nice clean pics while everything is nice and new. 'Cause once the riding season starts - if it's nice enough outside to clean - it's nice enough out to ride! :fact

2009 Suzuki GSX-R 750
Akrapovic Full Racing 2 SS Exhaust System – Carbon Fiber Shorty Muffler

Healtech X-Tre
Healtech Speedohealer
Driven 525 16T Front Sprocket
PAIR Block Cap Installed
Vortex Frame Sliders
Fender Eliminator with Lite-N-Boltz
Suzuki Genuine Carbon Fiber Tank Protector

Next on the list - getting my suspension all setup for my weight/riding style and for the street.

Well my R1 dyno'd at 142.75hp and 74lb of torque which is a good number for the 03's (136 was around average before mods for the 02-03's).

The 08/09 GSXR 750's are reporting numbers in the 128-133hp in stock form on the dyno. Akrapovic claims a 9.8hp gain with the full system without fuel controller since the GSXR's have the better ECU.

Now without it being dyno'ed I can tell you this much...it definitly feels strong, very very close to how the R1 feels when it pulls. You can tell it has less torque which is expected with a smaller displacement engine. It seems to rev quicker than the R1.

I think once I get some assistance adjusting the stock suspension (it's sad but I don't trust my friends to help adjust sag and such...I don't think they know how to read a tape measure) so i'm going to probably hit Karns tomorrow or friday for him to give me a hand, it'll be perfect for the street. Not too much power, plenty agile and more comfortable.

Only just getting it broken in so only time will tell now...the wife says the rear seat it better than the R1.

Only other thing I noticed is how much you benefit from track oriented mods such as SS brake lines and track pads. The GSXR doesn't stop nearly as strong as the R1!

GSXR's seem to have a rap for bad brakes, the ones on both my 04 600 and transplanted 07 750 front end certainly did. One easy mod, outside of lines and a good bleed is to find a newer R1/R6 master and us it. These are Brembo and veyr nice for an OE piece. I think 04 and up on R1's, not sure on R6. You can find them a lot cheaper than a "real" aftermarket Brembo master.

I would guess that it should indeed be a great balance between power and agility. Lot of people seem to believe it to be about the perfect street bike.

Nice bike!!

I loved my '05 750, was the perfect combo for the street. The brakes were a little disappointing, they were always hard to bleed to get nice and firm.

Yeah I think your right on the years, My 03 has a Nissan front master and a Brembo rear master as factory pieces. I have been watching ebay for a used R1 master for a steal of a price and i'll probably pick one up if I cross paths with a good deal.

I had to get the exhaust  that 14lb cat converter had to be removed...on the 08/09's they welded the stupid thing right to the header...by replacing the exhuast lost around 20lb's and gained HP...good tradeoff.

Back around thanksgiving when the cold and snow started to fall. Practically stole if off the showroom floor since they were trying to clear out 09 left overs before suzuki announced no 10' in the US until the sell of the 09's...now Action motorsports is charging almost full retail for the 750's again!
