Honestly you will not really notice wheels at all - if what's on there now is really heavy than you will feel a small difference in how a much lighter set spins up. So far as any aero advantage the difference is so damn small that you'll never notice. You may also notice a small difference in ride quality though I have no way of telling you in which direction without having riden the wheels you have now.

I could never climb all that well, I'd hate those guys that do nothing but ride just popping off the front while I'm watching my heart monitor about explode - being old and out of shape sucks

As much as I hate to admit it Jr., you've been somewhat inspirational. Reading all this stuff about riding road bikes got me motivated a bit again. Dug out my old Canny CAAD4 and tuned and cleaned it up. In surprisingly good condition for not having been used for like 3 years and having a ton of miles on it. The bike is probably 7 years old by now and was my primary road bike when I was doing a lot of miles a few years ago. It's going to get set up in my fluid trainer so I can start putting in some miles over the winter to get in better shape for both getting out again on the bike and for better endurance for track days
