LOL ...... I can't keep up with Jr. yet ..... need way more miles , he's just nice enough to go at my slow ass pace ..... I'm 40 and 215 right now , I ain't winning no climbing awards anytime soon !! ... so far I've dropped 11lbs since riding with Justin for the last 1 1/2 months

I thought you rode a ton and were like Jr's age. Glad to see you're an old fart like me. I agrivated an old skiing injury a few years ago on my left knee and sort of have been off bikes for the most part since. Pretty much how I got back into riding motrcycles. We'll see how my knee holds up on the trainer over the winter. I was always more into riding distance than just hammering it. Maybe we'll all get out together in the spring so it can be yet another thing that I can't keep up with Jr. on

I raced Cat 4 road until 7 years ago , then quit and have been playing with cars ever since , then got the track bike and found this place , now Jr. gave me the itch to start riding and racing again , so the track days will be far and few between I believe ... I wanna get out out atleast 2 times in 2010 ... if nothing else just to scare the shit outta myself .... I gotta get down to 170-180 weight range before I'll be competitive again .... thats what this winter is all about !!

i raced cat4 with a short flurtation with cat3 but much longer ago than you - though we're the same age - like 15 years ago. never all that fast but i did have fun. you'll find track days addictive so don't count on just doing a pair a year. btw, where's Jr. been?

This is what I'll be rolling on for the next 6 months until track days start up again - BMC Trailfox. Hillman State Park and the State Game lands aren't far from my office. The pine forest is so dense you can ride there while it's raining and not get wet. The trails are covered in pine needles so they drain very well. I can typically ride there all winter long (unless we have 3 feet of snow) and usually don't see much mud. It would be nice to improve my power-to-weight ratio during the winter! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2 ... =701799736

Unfortunately, I do most of my riding solo. Pat's talking about getting a mtb, so that could change. I don't mind riding solo in the day time, but solo night rides freak me out. Soon it will be too dark to get a decent ride in after work without running a light. I really need to find someone to do 1 or 2 after work, night rides a week.
