Its weird, b/c I feel like Detroit control's the play of the game much more than the pens b/c they control the neutral zone. However I think the Pens have more scoring opportunities as backwards as that sounds. But then the Wings have luck on their side and get the bounces they need. Its all not normal...

And IMO, the refs have not been good so far in this series both ways. They have left way too much stuff go. Both teams have gotten away with penalties, but Detroit does so much little stuff (inteference, holding, etc) that they get away with. They are experts about knowing exactly when to stop to not get called. The penalty last night on Malkin for interference was :bs: as the Detroit player grabbed and held him and then they both fell down.

Like I said before, I think Detroit in 5.

Everyone is all pissed off because there 2 man team got shut down. With Zetterburg on Crosby he can't do shit. Melkun's cheap shot at the end on Zetterburg was awsome for the fact that everyone now knows that Crosby can't do shit with Z around.

Also, the 3rd goal on Fluery was awesome, 3 pens players around the only Wing in the zone, and he gets the shot off, and right in.

I don't really think that the pens are a "2 man team" I think that's far more media hype than actuality. It's a great story for the media (and primarily the NHL) to sell but there is a good team overall in p-burg.
Zetterburg has done well on Sid but Sid still had good chances last night. Hossa has played well for the Wings and he's created the vast majority of the opportunites for detroit. He also should have gotten a penatly for the slash which had a lot to do with the goal.
The difference last night was really goaltending and a lot of luck. Fleury has played like shit, Osgood has been outstanding. The Pens had some great stuff bounce off posts, land on Osgood's back, etc. That same crap has gone in for the wings.
The reason I don't like the wings is not just because they are the wings but because of the machine like style they play. It reminds me of the Devils of about 5 or 6 years ago. It wins games but it's boring as piss to watch much of the time. It's basicallly like watching the neutral zone trap all over again. It seems as much as the legue tries to kill the concept people still find a way to keep playing it.

I took a look at the stats, and its odd that no one on the Pen's is even close to the same amount of points as Crosby and Melkun. While I agree both teams have had some lucky bounces. The only Pen's goal of last night was tapped in by Stuart.

It is going to be a great series.

Go Wings! :boobies:

Yeah, felt the roles were reversed last night. Pens got the breaks and the wings didn't.

Even though the pens completely outplayed them when it counted, in the 3rd.
