so tonight i went on a police ride along with my buddies dad because im toying with the idea of going to the police academy thanks to my one friend devin who is also trying to be a cop. we were out on patrol and a call came in that a guy went to someone house and unloaded a bunch of rifle rounds and then fled. the vehicle description went out and where the guys lives so we staked out a spot behind a bar where we thought he might drive by. we waited a few minutes then decided to drive around and look. literally 1 minute after we left an officer spotted him going down the road we were just sitting off of, so we hauled balls and joined in the chase and we pulled him over in a parking lot where he bailed. 2 officers took off after him and by this time there was literally 7 or so officers there with guns drawn on the other person in the van. damn i was jacked up after that. i took a pic with my phone and uploaded it to facebook, ill see if i can get it on here. just wanted to share

sounds fun, i've toy'd with the option of going to academy also for a career change...depending on the location you can make pretty good money but it all depends on the location.

That does sound like fun. Justin, I can just picture you sitting there in the car going "can I work the siren?" That would be cool though. At least you got to see some action and the reality of the job. I kind of pictured you being more like the next Gill Grissom though, with your schooling background.

cool....
I also toyed with the idea but ended up in the military.
It amazes me how a LEO gan get in a high speed chase, get all pumped up on adrenalin and then just calmly arrest the perp when he crashes out. I'd be beating the crap out of them for pulling that shit.
