These things really piss me off...that's why we need staged licenses here like they do in europe to keep young inexperienced kids off of bikes they can't control. They ruin the reputation of the bikes and never focus on the guys that take it to the track. Or the fact that many motorcycle clubs have lots of charitable efforts associated with riding to better their communities.

You can exploit any activity to make it look the way you want...they used to do it with import cars...now it's motorcycles.

its been motorcycles for a long time - i'm actually surprised they have never managed to stuff hp limits or something else stupid like that through congress. that is not to say that they have not tried...
i do agree that a staged license system would be a good start. making msf manditory would be a good idea as well.
this is why i always to try to snag people to road groups like scpmc cause it at least shows them some aspects of being responcible on the street. trying to snag people to this place as well to get them to take it off the street and to the track.

What kills me is even my co-worker says it all the time..."your one of those jerks like the guy that passed me on a double yellow riding a wheelie this weekend". Then I have to remind them that that's 10% of the motorcyclist, the other 90% are responsible and remind him that I take it to the track and not the street. It's a bad rep for all of us just to show off for some girl on the corner...

 I get the same shit, even from my business partner (who constantly whines that I do not carry enough life insurance).
He's figured out that I'm reasonably responcible on the street as has Jules. He has some autoX time in a car so he sort of gets my track thing and the (positive) results of that on the street.
