BeaveRun was sold and renamed as Pittsburgh International Race Complex now owned Jim and Kathy Stout of Alliance, OH. they also own Coastal Pet Products. From stuff I've seen it looks lke they are looking to expand both the North and South courses. Could be exciting stuff! Hope they repave the old parts too and hte god damned access road
Track map of proposed construction (yeah, gives me wood):
Is there an ETA for the South course? That place will be bloody amazing if they actually get the addition done.

I heard they were going to start "clearing the land" for the track this winter. It will really come down to when they have the $$$ to do it, so although I'm optimistic, I'm not holding my breath.
I talked with Lee for Euro Moto at the Steel City Riders Christmas get together yesterday. Lee was/is a BeaveRun / Pittsburgh International Race investor. Last season the track had some type of agreement with the government. I believe they were using the shooting range and the track for vehicle training (really don't know many of the details around this). It seems the gov't was looking to take over more and more of the track's calendar. They gave Lee a hard time about his track days last year, because they were 1 day events. Because of the gov't, they were pushing a 2 day minimum rental policy. Ultimately the track needed to make a decision to place priority with the gov't and racing / track days second, or vice/versa. Lucky for us, it seems that the new ownership has chosen racing / track days as priority #1. It sounds like this has resulted in either a drastic reduction / complete elimination of facility use by the gov't. As a result, instead of the track having to place limitations on racing / track days, they are actively seeking opportunities. According to Lee, his 2 Euro Moto track days are already booked for 2012 and the track has approached him about booking low cost, week day, track days next year. These will be open lapping days like Mike used to put on back in the day. They will probably get put together with short-ish notice when the track weather and schedule are favorable. I'm looking forward to doing a few in 2012, so I hope they pan out!
