I'm going to double check with my Highmark policy, I may get a supliment. Shit happens and that sort of shit is really expensive if your primary policy weasels out on you.

I keep asking mine to ensure I'm covered for medical on the track and he keeps saying I am. When I insured both the dirtbikes and the R1, I specifically asked him to make sure it was possible. It took him a few days, but he got all the answer I needed.

It is about the bike, and myself. I have comprehensive on the bikes (no collision as they're all not street legal). However, I only got comp for in case they're lost/stolen/damaged off the track. If it's damage from my own dumb going down on the track, then I'm paying for it out of pocket. I also made sure that I have a medical rider for in case I get injured while riding. Not all companies have this and most of the ones that do, you have to specifically request it. Even if it's a road legal bike.

OK - so I'm wondering about Health Ins. coverage.
For example, let's say the following.
Someone get's injured in a track day crash. The bike is not insured as it is for track use only. What is the situation with claims filed against the persons health insurance policy? Can anyone offer an opinion on if these would be covered or how/where to check?
Just wondering.

Just wondering. Old post. Sorry, haven't logged in for quite some time. Personal experience is that they called and asked what/where/when/how it happened and if the facility had insurance. When I told them I signed a waiver, they said "Oh, that changes it". This was for my son, and we had an HSA insurance plan with a high deductible when this occurred. I think the breakdown was something like: Hospital bill: $3500, they covered $1000 ($2500 deductible) Ambulance: $2500, they covered all but $65 It could be different if you're racing. But, if you're just doing a trackday, it should be covered. When in doubt, ALWAYS call your insurance company.
