If you have, which back plate did you use for the case - the solid or the one with the cut outs?

put mine in my truck and went for a drive. I have the solid plate in ad couldnt hear myself talking or the radio. Had trouble hearing my truck as well. I went out to play in the snow with my truck and used the cover with holes and it worked great. I could hear everything..radio, talking, truck.

I says to use the cover so it is waterproof and if going over 100mph to reduce wind noise

What I want to know is where are all the cheap used SD ones for sale ?:biglaugh: I thought there would be a bunch of them on forums for sale from guys that bought the new HD ones. Although I'm seeing brand new SD's go for about $130. Maybe they'll be more this summer.

For those of you that have the HD version, how are the still shots? I'm trying to justify the purchase of the HD version; if the still shots are good that would help. I think the still shots were supposed to be improved too even though its still 5mp? I know it doesn't have a viewfinder but on their website it says an "LCD Backpack" that plugs into the BUS on the back will be out in Spring 2010 for $50.

If you have pictures you took with it post em up  !

I did not try using it to do stills but it would not be my first choice simply because of the wide angle lens.

I have about 10 sessions worth of footage from Jennings with me and Joe playing camera bike. I need to spend a bit of time to edit, etc. and I will post them. Unfortunately being away for a week backs up "real" work so I probably won't be able to do it till sometime next week.

The video quality is very good all things considered. Outside of using a somewhat hard to work with AVC1 codec it's a great buy for the $$$.

I couldn't help myself...you guys were off having fun in the sun, I was stuck here in the snow...I found a good deal on a used HD one and bam, UPS just dropped it off today.

Now I'm not quite sure my pc is going to be able to handle this. I'm hearing the editing process of HD is VERY cpu intensive. What software are you going to use to edit the video?

was going to use adobe Premier but I have CS3 at home and would need CS4 which I need to get from the office. using that to edit track videos is like using am atomic bomb to swat a fly. i need to reblast one of my machines so I will put win7 on it. DVD maker in 7 will edit the Hero's files so I'll probably go that route. They are MP4's utilizing avc1 video codec.

hd does require both cpu and video card horsepower - i would only shoot in "full" hd if you want to play it back on your wide screen TV (bigger than 30" or so). for HD on PC 720 is more that enough.

Is the lens still a wide angle? I like the SD one for rider vid but following another bike you literally have to be on top of them. I still need to mount that VIO I bought before my crash at Nelson
