That sucks..........

Any damage to the rest of the motor? That generation of R6 has a rep for spun bearings :-(

Did he tell you want all he needs to do or how ugly it's gonna be?

hes working on a price/parts list for me. dont know what its going to cost but im guessing its not going to be cheap. i think it messed a bunch of other stuff too. i was at work, so i forget what all he said but i remember him mentioning exhuast valves, pistons, something about cam clearance...uggh

err......... In a bad case of a spun rod bearing you can end up with a rod going through the side of the block. Obviously you did not get that lucky.
On an upside, if there is any valve damage it should be limited to just the cylinder where the bearing failed.

I'd see what he wanted to fix it and in the meanwhile price some used motors off the r6-forum.com, etc.

3300 to fix
1800 in parts
1500 in labor

looks like shes not getting fixed anytime soon unless i can find a used engine

I would not fix it.... You should be able to score a motor for 1/2 of the cost of repair and we could install it in a few hours (and six packs).

yeah i emailed him back and said about a new motor because i cant afford that and if that dont work just bill me for the teardown and ill come get it. idk how to put an engine in though soooo....
