Yeah, dead control box. Anyway, I got roped into some other things this coming weekend so I'm out for Monday.
Bill, you doing VIR again this season? I think there's a date in mid Oct.

Yep. VIR North on Monday, Oct 15. They are also running the Patriot course on the 14th but it's short. Like maybe 1 mile long. Did it once and wasn't impressed, but it's cheap $125/day? So if you need to make the trip worthwhile to do two days, that's an option.

Let me talk to another local guy to see if he's interested. How far is it from your place?

90 miles. I usually plan 2 hrs for the trip. Sometimes I go the night before to hang with friends and camp and other times I leave at 5am and drive in that morning.

I'm still in and will be arriving Sunday afternoon. Driving grey Toyota Tundra with VA tags MTN2OBX and open trailer with Yellow BMW S1000RR (#75) and a buddy with GSXR 750 (#311). Typically we set up about half way down the main paddock on the edge of the through traffic lane directly accross from the cut through lane that crosses through the grass area and onward to the pit out lane.

I'm guessing I'm the other local guy Mike is talking about and Yeah, I'm interesting in doing VIR North on the 15th! I've done Patriot once and thought it was ok... not great. I haven't done North but it looks like it's a big fast course like Summit Main.

Looks like we derailed the hell out of this thread! :biglaugh:

I was kind of digging what seemed like the personal, one on one, converstions Mike was having with me on the board. Yeah, derailed, highjacked, kidnapped, you name it....

It's hard to compare VIR North with Summit Main. I always say VIR South is a lot like Summit Main where as North is a whole new ball game with being longer, but also technical in spots too. The front straight is fast for sure and I think a little longer than Summit Main. Advanced laptimes at North are 1:36 (smokin' fast) to 1:45. Intermediate laps are 1:45 to 1:55 and Beginners are 1:55+. Hope you guys can make it.

I'll probably pit back behind you. Don't like being that close to all the traffic and kind of a pain to get to power from where you are. I'll stop over and say hi...
