Was my first time with NESBA on Sunday. Didn't mind being in the Beginner group to start. Had a few things to work on.

Had a couple laps without traffic and ran 1:45 and 1:46 (the last one would have been a lot faster but was held up in the last few turns.

Would that be considered an intermediate pace?

Already registered for Thunderbolt on Nov 7th. Hope it isn't too cold.

45's 46's would be I pace but that's not the only thing they look for in order to get a bump. Line up at the front of the center row on the 7th and get a CR to check you out.

Welcome to the site BTW! I think I saw your bike in the paddock on Sunday, purdy

Lower 40 something and some good beer should do it

Times combined with smooth riding, playing nice with others and a good understanding of the race line will get you to Intermediate.

There are guys that are fast but scary to watch. Their body position is poor and their lean angle is exagerated because of it. THey can come up on traffic but can't manage to get by or worse yet, misjudge closing speeds and stand up other riders. Others couldn't find an apex if you pointed to it each lap. Consistently show a CR that you have mastered the basic skills and can maintain a consistent I pace and you shouldn't have any problems with the bump to I

Imported or domestic beer?

Got it. There was one guy who I was following who scared the crap out of me. Sure enough, he lowsided on turn 6 (left hander).
