Great write up Ben! Congrats on getting into the 1:03's! It sounds like you had a great battle during the last race on Sunday! I'm sorry I missed it! Of course my kids were all excited about going and then wanted to go home as soon as we got there.

I looped back by your pits shortly after we chatted and you were gone. I wanted to point out that the rider we discussed at Beaver was at the race and won a few of the races I watched. His name is Greg Winslow. He rides a GSXR 1000 and looked to be one of the fastest guys there on Sunday. I ran a lap time on him on my cell phone and it was a high 0:58. It was good to get to watch Rosey and Borello race...

That was the only WERA race I've been to and I was really disappointed with the turn out. No Sam Gaige, no Eddie Kraft, no Blake Kelly, were they all at VIR with CCS?

Nice write up and congrats on the podium finish :toocool: Odd that the BeaveRun event was so poorly attended. Summit seemed pretty full in most classes we watched. Nice job on getting into the 3’s

Glad to hear Rosey is back racing again. Winslow’s 58 is plain sick. What is the official moto record for BeaveRun – anyone know?

Thanks guys, Matt I know how it goes with the kids. Ya, I didn't see Winslow in the pits but saw his times, crazy fast. Blake Kelly was racing an old Triumph Thruxton (sorry no pics Mike) and an R6 I think. Eddie Kraft is still nursing a bad wrist injury from last year, and I have no idea where Gaige is, he hasn't been to the last two events.

Everyone is/was disappointed with the turn out, didn't help that the forecast looked like garbage but still it was weak. Summit was much better for attendance.

I'm pretty sure it's been broken at least once (By Robert Jensen I believe) since this article. 56.93 isn't too shabby though! I miss Mike Milan!

Yeap - Rob Jensen does currently hold the record at: 56.876
He's an STG spornsored rider and looks likehe has track records for a few other tracks as well:

"Imagine how cool it would be to run your own program racing motorcycles for a living. For Robert Jensen this dream is a reality. His "job" is traveling from one track to the next all over the country winning races to pay the bills. No factory paycheck here, its win races or eat Ramen Noodles folks. Welcome to the life of a Professional Club Racer!

As one might imagine Robert takes his safety gear real serious, no down time due to injury in the budget at Jensen Motorsports! We are proud to support Robert with KNOX Body Armor, Psycleskins Undersuits, RS Taichi Leather Suits and Held Phantom Gloves. Incredible gear keeping one of the Best in The Business Safe week in and week out.

From 3/15/09 to 5/18/09 Robert has won 52 races. (Where does he keep all the trophies?) As of 6/1/2009 he holds the following track records: Beaverun .56.876, Blackhawk Farms Raceway 1.08.687, Carolina Motorsports Park (new config) 1.31.4, Carolina Motorsports Park (old config) 1.34.689, Grattan 1.17.399, Heartland Park 1.41.489, Nelson Ledges 1.06.228, Summit Point 1.11.741 and Talladega .56.389."

Jensen ran a 56.876 on an R1 in 2009. He also ran a 57.379 on 8/31 2008 on a 600. :toocool:

I don't believe he raced in 2010 or 2011. I've seen him working with Ohlins set up with Speigler at the track a few times last year.

Both these videos can be bumped up to 720p in youtube if your computer can play them.
Here is the beginning of B-superbike I cut out the boring parts:

Here's the video of the close B-superstock race, again I cut out the boring parts:

Second vid is great :toocool:
Seems like you get a hell of a drive off the back section starting with 7 but they were getting you a bit on the brakes into 1 and then carrying that momentum through the tights stuff to 6/7.

That finish is pretty awesome - REALLY great riding Ben

Yep I would agree with that assessment, I need to get better into 1 for sure. Interestingly enough, I wasn't getting the brake fade that I did last season, I kept waiting for it but the lever felt just about the same all day long.

Ben,

Great Vids!!! What lap times were you running in the second vid? It looked like the 2 riders in front were holding you up a bit at times. It looked like if you could have made it to the front you could have gapped them a bit? Great race regardless, and I'm sure you had a blast out there!!!
