STG has them for $240 a set, thinking about picking some up. I know they are comparable to the Pirelli Supercorsas, but I've never run those. So...

1. Are they good?

2. Do you need warmers? (I'm assuming no)

3. Even if you do not need, can you use warmers?

4. Overall, would you buy them for $240 a set?

never used them so i cant comment but you do need to account for getting them mounted. that is another $30 for the pair.

Justin has been doing well with the conti's so i may swap to them. They are more expensive then these.

1. depends who you ask. seems with michelin you either love them or hate them.
2. do you NEED them. no. would irun them without warmers? no.
3. of course, they are a race tire
4. i would buy them once since they are so cheap and see if i like them, but if you are going to run michelin race tires, go with the new power ones

I would have to get any tire mounted, so that cost is negligible unless I buy through NESBA.

The conti races are a little more $$ than I want to spend on tires at this point in my riding. I feel I am still capable of riding at my limits with the DCIII's I have, so do not have a need to move up. Was just going to pick up a set or 2 to try out since they were so cheap.

you wont get the most out of them without warmers, and you are going to heat cycle them to death as well. but for 240 if you want to try you misght as well once sto see i guess

Are you really sure about this?
You're getting pretty quick and while someone may be able to run a CIII at pace X someone else may have issues with it at the same pace.
A lot of it has to do with how hard you (and your bike's set up) are on your tires and everyone is different. I always sucked at tire management with cars. I have a feeling I'm the same way with bikes.
I'm guessing that all of us are starting to work toward the limits of street tires. You certainly faster than me but Kyle, Lee, Joe, Matt etc. are as well. Joe switched to SC's a while ago and I think he's pretty happy with them vs. CIII's as am I.
I don't think you, or any of us Jr. excluded, would be faster on DOT's but I'm pretty sure we would be/are safer. I know that I was starting to get my CIII's greasy at Nelson as the temps went up.
Sort of the problem with this little affliction of ours, the faster you go the more involved (and expensive) it gets.

The dc3/s are a good tire but for me its now time to upgrade to a better race tire. I had 2 days on my last dc3, then flipped it. It was then starting to move around more but when it let go it gave no notice it was doing so.

Justin took the dc3 into the .23 at summit before it let go and gave him a nasty off.

I think its better to have more tire than not enough.

I wont be skimping on tires to save a few bucks, it can cost too much in the long run.

just my .02

IMO you should be running DOTs now. you are at the limit of street/trackday tires

Maybe you guys are right, might be time to move up. I think I might pick up a set of power races just to try out and if I like them I'll start running that level of tire instead of the street/track tire I have been running.
