So after plenty of "friendly encouragement" from everyone to move up from DCIIIs to DOTs, I made the switch yesterday at Beaver. I went out first session on pretty beat DCIIIs on a wet cold track (I think only 6 or so people went out first session). Pretty much just poked around for about 3 or 4 laps to feel out the track. Started to pick up the pace and on lap 7 or so had an "OH SHIT!!" moment with the back end stepping out on me. I told my self once I had that moment I was coming off.

When I got off the track I felt my rear tire and it was so hard that there was absolutely no heat in it. I decided at that point I had to put new tires on. To make a long story short, I ended up putting on a new set of Pirelli Supercorsa Pro's (I think SC1/SC2).

Anyways, missed 2nd session putting them on and by 3rd session the temps had gone up and the track was pretty much dry. Lets just say in 6 sessions I did not have any "OH SHIT!!" moments, the tires stuck like glue. I did not have my lap timer mounted, but I know I was running close to if not my best lap times and I was not pushing the tires.

I guess the switch is official. The DOTs rode and wore really well and are helped me get a little confidence back after wrecking twice this year on the DCIIIs.
