Setup the trailer over the weekend. Picked up the Harbor Freight chock that Matt pointed out for $40 and I am really happy with how it turned out. The chock plus four D-rings works really well. Only setup for a single bike right now, but I rarely haul two bikes and if I need to I can figure that out then. On a side note was at Harbor Freight and they were having a parking lot sale. I was also looking for an air compressor for mainly inflating tires and such (I don't own any air tools - YET!!). I had a coupon for a little 1/3 HP 3 gallon 100 PSI pancake compressor for $39.99. However while I was standing there they rolled 2 - 2 HP 8 gallon 125 PSI compressors out onto the parking lot sale marked down to $37.50 (Normally $120, on clearance for $75, parking lot sale for an extra 50% off = $37.50). Both were gone in less than 5 minutes, I got the last of the 2. Anyway, successful weekend getting everything ready. Oh and the bike is all back together just need to do the little things like oil/filter, coolant, chain cleaning, and safety wiring. Tom/Justin/Wolley - I have a small tap in the top right (throttle side) of my engine, you guys ever experience that with your R6? Bike rides fine, no power delivery issues. I am going to change the oil to see if that alleviates the problem but just wondering if you've heard it before. If all else, I'll get it checked out before BeaveRun. |

After my run at Beaver a few weeks ago, I experienced the sticking tire issue brought up in this thread. I hated it and decided to find a way to resolve the issue and I came up with the following... Bought a 2-pack of microfiber pillow cases (pick your favorite color, I picked black since I'm boring) and just slid a pillow case down over the front of the chock. When the tire rolls in it holds the pillow case in place while the pillow case keeps the tire off the metal chock. Had absolutely no issue pulling the bike out after my day at Summit. The pillow case did stick to the tire, but it just peels off with no effort. $5 for a 2-pack, works really well in my opinion. |
