I thought I read the PB unit was rated at like 69 or 70 db. I read some reviews of a smaller UST and they were not impressive, citing reliability concerns.
I may just save up and get a smaller Honda and let my stable mate fend for himself.

It's out in the driveway running as I type this. Noise level doen't seem to bad at all, don't think I could get away with running it at night though. But with a long enough cord it won't bother anyone in the paddock. |

At one point when I was at NJMP I knew it was getting close to running out of gas and I had to ask the people around me not to talk for a second so I could hear if it was still running. It's not bad at all with all the other noise at the race track. I will bet that someone close to you at the track will have a louder The only problem I had was on Sat morning at NJMP, the temp was in the upper 30's / lower 40's and it would stall if I plugged both warmers in. I let it run with just the front warmer on during the riders meeting and plugged both in after the meeting and didn't have any problems for the next two days. I think the genny just needed to warm up a bit before it could handle both warmers. It would really be nice to have one that was powerful enough to run two sets though... |

There was a guy pitted close to me at NJMP who's genny crapped out and it would have been nice to be able to help him out. Also, if you're heading to a TD with a friend, you'd only have to pack 1 genny instead of 2. I do like the one I have though. It's pretty quiet, light, compact and hard to beat for the money! |

I went (pre)shopping today for generators. I found out Northern Tool has the All Power 3250w on sale Friday for $199. I am going to drop the hammer and get one. It is rated at 68 db, not much louder than the ones you guys are snagging off eBay. Questions for you people who have purchased the Made in China generators. At the carburetor, the mixture screw is glued in place and won't allow adjustment. Is yours that way too? Reason I ask is mine will only start with the choke ON, no matter how long it has been running or what the weather is, hot or cold.. Is yours that way too? |
