Need to get myself a set of these. Some question...

1. Is it really that much better to get the dual temp? If you have them, when do you set them higher and when do you turn them down lower?

2. If I buy a set sized for 180, will they definitely not fit a 190? If I get a 190, can I put them on a 180?

3. I know the main brands, any I should definitely avoid or are a great deal?

certainly no expert but..

#1 when they will be sitting a long time, like over lunch, also you can use lower temp with some rains

#2 it depends

#3 i always hear good stuff about chicken hawk and woodcraft. there are a lot of warmers out there with different brand names made by the same people.

1. i use the low temps over lunch and the high between sessions. also when im done the td i turn them off and wrap the tires so they cool down slower

2. i bought mine for a 180 and they work fine on the 190

3. anything name brand should be fine

I got a set when i bought my bike but haven't used them yet. Single temp chicken hawks.

I asked around how people used the single temps and they put them on the tires but don't plug them in until 20-30 minutes before they head out.

As fast as we wear out tires and the quality of tires today, i don't think we need to worry about heat cycles, we just use them to get the tires up to temp for the out lap.

I've been wordering that same thing. My R1 is supposed to run a 190 but i've been running a 180 for years as it does improve the 03 R1's handling on the rear end, but I have been thinking of switching back since only a track day. I've heard a good brand that has a full wrap doesn't have a problem with a 190 tire in a 180 warmer.
