Are they required? I'm debating on removing the whole assembly on my 07 R1 and want to know before hand if there are organizations that require it or if any of you run no rear brake?

Meh, valid point. It looks a little ridiculous with the bracket back there just hanging out anyways. I'll just make a modification to the rear brake reservoir that I have done to my 09 and it'll look a little better.
