I know the difference in boiling points but RoadRash (adam) a long time ago talked me out of using 5.1 claiming that it dries out the seals in the calipers? Anyone ever heard of this? Adam's a pretty experienced guy but it just seems weird.
I need to do the brakes on the 675 and the R1 and I'm debating. I have some Motul 5.1 coming from Nick @ STG along with some other goodies but Adam's warning is bugging me....

Never heard that before, i just heard that you have to bleed them out a good bit because it has a tendency to moisture in the system.

I had 5.1 in in my 03 R6 and i will be putting it in the new one also

I always only use whatever is called out for by the system components. Using the wrong type from what i've been told can do damage to seals but I haven't actually seen anyone have any problems using higher than original stuff.
