how about the part of the rear cowl facing the front of the bike? stuck mine there, hope it works.

are you saying you pointed the pick up sensor towards the front of the bike? if so that wont work, it needs to be to the side

even i'm not that dumb... it's just mounted on the flat part of the cowl that comes up from the seat - right at the top pointing the sensor to the side (currently to the left).
i would put it on the top of the tail but there's a ridge that runs all the length of it.

lol i didnt think you were that dumb, just the way it was worded. that should be fine, i dont think it needs to be perfectly level or anything. mines all ghetto rigged on my ram air tubes and it works fine.

i know what you mean. im just saying that i slap mine on the velcro, and electrical tape my wire down in a rough way and it still works all cock-eyed and stuff. i know you do things precise and good so im sure its good

this is what I ended up doing - hope it works ok for the pick up... as anal retentive as I am i made a bar mount for the head unit while i was at it.
