I've only had A* suits, so not sure on the sizing for Teknic so was hoping someone who has used both could maybe give me some insight. I wear a 44 size A* suit, is Teknic sizing similar? I've looked at each's sizing chart and they seems to be smaller/bigger in different areas. Either way, guy on the NESBA board posted up a 46 Teknic suit for $225 shipped and was thinking of picking it up. Guess I could sell it if it doesn't fit.

Also, for those that have used Teknic, are you happy with them?

A few years ago Teknic had a rep for running small. Apparently they have adjusted their sizing these days and now fit along the same lines as the rest of them.
I think Jr. has "tested" Teknic suits a number of times without permanent reminders :)

Mike is spot on. I've got an older Teknic (2 or 3 years old) and its one size smaller than the A* were at the time. I've heard the new stuff is more in line with the other manufacturers sizes. I think I got mine for $350 lightly used without any rash.

FWIW, I wear a 46, I had to have mine altered a bit. I needed more room in the shoulders/upper arms and added more length to the torso because my boys were in serious pain when standing. I wear an A* back protector and want to wear a chest protector but there is no room unfortunately. I'm not quite 6'1" 190lbs.

Durability has been great though, been down in it twice without busting any seams. I got a dime sized hole in the outer layer from sliding on my ass which I've had repaired, but that's it.

I just bought a new Teknic this fall,I remember reading the 09 models were sized small and you had to go up one.I have a old Hein Gericke that was a 38 and was real tight and could hardly stand but fit good sitting on the bike.It finally stretched out perfect. The new Teknic I bought was 40 and it too fits tight, calves especially and some in the shoulders.I think it will stretch in to fit perfect after a couple good hot days.I would rather have it a bit too tight than loose and my two piece Alpinestar is.Hope this helps some.

Thanks guys. I opted to not get this used suit after the guy said he used it for 60 or 70 trackdays (can imagine what it smells like). Plus I landed some real good deals from SBTG on closeout items. Now I just need to lose a few pounds to get back into my previous suit size
