The gix has one, to me it's just another thing to worry about. It also makes me have to run the bars a bit wider than I like (it takes up around 1/2" on the bar).
Not sure why it makes sense on a motorcycle anyway since they all have fall sensors these days anyway.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a switch with a cord that attaches to the rider so that if you seperate from the bike it will shut off. Like what you see on jet skiis and snowmobiles (where it actually makes sense).

I would say it depends. I've gone down on my dirtbike and had it run for a while before I can get over to it and pick it up or hit the kill switch. I don't think it's so much a matter of safety as it is to protect the engine. You want it to run on it's side starving for oil before it dies if it doesn't have a lean sensor or tip over sensor?

I don't have one on mine. But, it's always a thought...

I say ney, It is more likely to cause a problem than to fix one. if it pulls out mid corner and your bike shuts off, :eek:

If you crash, the tip over switch should shut off the bike. if you get thrown off and the bike stays up and keeps going, its momentum will take it to the tire wall that will safely bing it to a stop. Right Justin. :biglaugh:

I put one on my Banshee but I never even thought about having one on a track bike. Most drag racing, even some hillclimbing competitions require them and they are great for an mx track for atv's or bikes. But I don't really see where it's needed for a street or track bike with their own system. It's more of an offroad thing and is just something else to go wrong, which would probably happen when you least expect it & at the worst time.

I don't see much a point on a bike, track or not, except for the obvious to kill the engine if it falls over so it doesn't sit there on its side and run while not getting oil. I doubt it would stay upright for any distance that it would matter. It's not like you're going to chase it down and catch it anyhow before it falls over and anytime I fell of a bike it was on it's way to the ground anyhow. I had one on my Raptor which makes sense on something with 4 wheels.
