looking at getting a back protector and possibly chest protector if i have some change left over, going back and forth with the KNOX contour back protector, sportbiketrackgear sucks them pretty hard but theyre biased towards them for obvious reasons. They look pretty solid but are real pricey. Anyone try em out or hear anything about em?

I have a Knox Aegis (8 plate) that I've been wearing all summer and it's really comfortable when riding street or track. I'm sure in part due to being relatively thin & flexible. The velcro belt / kidney support has several locations to attach to the back plate for fitment, which is pretty cool along with adjustable shoulder straps. They really pushed the Knox over the A* one that I had originally called them for but I have no regrets whatsoever. I had it on during my recent highside at the Beave. I ended up with 2 sprained ankles, a seperated shoulder, and a fractured thumb. No back pain whatsoever so maybe it did help some. The shoulder strap got almost torn through from where my jacket seam tore on the track, but otherwise it appears to be good as new.

When wearing it it's barely noticable but I don't feel right when not wearing it. Just that thought of added insurance I guess.

the thing i like about STG is that they dont sell anything they dont use themselves, so if they sell it i take it as a quality piece of gear

yeah, they are pretty straght and just about everyone of the guys there races or at least does track days.
nick's a good guy, give him a call (ext 205), tell him you're from trackwhores and he'll take care of you - do not order via the website....

I have an A*s Bionic (I think) and I've yet to test it but it seems pretty substantial. Knox I think is a bit thinner but has more coverage. The one milo has looks pretty damn solid.
