$250.00 dont sounds like a bad price at all. And and i bet you still wont scratch up rims nearly as bad as Cernics!!!

I think I can do it pretty cleanly. But using the HF bar is out of the question - it will scratch the rim without a doubt.

No problem...I figured i'd be doing alot of rims so decided to buy something that would take the abuse. I was in the same boat as you, I was taking mine off the bike to a local shop that was charging $10...then $15....then $25....then once it hit $35 a wheel I had enough. Having your own regardless of brand is great.

you're braver than I am to do other people's wheels - in today's day and age I'm afraid of the liability to do it for others, especially if I take money for doing it. I am going to allow other people to use it if they want to but I am not going to do it for them.

Not because of the liability but because last summer I lost out on ALOT of riding time doing so many wheels. Liability insurance is actually not expensive at all. I've made my money back so now I just ask for some money to pay for supplies here and there.

what do you use to lubricate the tire? I know they sell special sauce but tire shops used to use dish soap (probably still do). Ideas?

I use the stuff that No-Mar sells, bought a bunch a few years ago. It last a long time but it says it's vegetable based.

Tib does good stuff and saved me a lot of cash over the last year for sure. he is damn quick too but till we get done Bs'n its usually 2 hours later.
Like he said a lot better then the 25-35 a tire other places charge. I trust him more then the other shops anyhow

Just got my No-mar MD Bar - completely different animal from the POS HF one. They tossed in some tire lube, extra tips, etc. Very nice. Still waiting on my balancer and need to figure out a good way to secure the base to something and I'm ready to get started.
