i trimmed off a lot of stuff out of the 675 harness, but you do have to be really careful with what you take out.

Updated pics...put the bodywork on today...all nice and painted up. now I have to decide on what color to make the number plates. I think white would look the best but there is a slight possibility of trying to do either a wera race or ccs and they both require yellow for novice.

excellent! I think yellow plates would look good either way. more "pop" than white.

Looks good. Are those the original foot controls? Looks like you replaced the peg. But, the bracket looks original. Also, if this is strictly going to be track only, remove the rear footpegs. If you need the right side for the exhaust, remove the peg itself. The left side, remove entirely.

i think he's planning to do some 2-up laps with his wife - thus the rear pegs.
mine won't even get on the back of a bike, not to mention at the track.

That's cool they do that. I don't think I could ever want to put my wife on the back of an R1 on the track. I took her out a few times on the street years ago and she didn't like it and neither did I.

Looks good except its another black bike. I would remove the rear pegs and put them back on when needed. Its one less thing to break off if you bin it.
