Hey guys,
I am currently converting my 08 R1 into a track bike. This bike will be for the track only as I dont enjoy riding on the street anymore.
I got 2 sets of track body work last week and they are now ready to be mounted to the bike. My bike however is not quite ready yet for the body work to be mounted.
I am in the process of doing a oil and oil filter change and changing over to full synthetic oil. I will be draining the cooling system and running water only. Clean the air filter while I am at it. New front and rear brake pads and probably new fluid.
I have got the bike to a point where I have stripped all the road kit off.
My question now is, what do you guys do with the wiring harness. I have all the connectors unplugged for the headlights and turn signals etc do you guys just tape it up to neaten it up?
Any other advice is welcome.

I'd just tape them up (ends) and secure them out of the way. While you have all the stuff off I'd also safety wire things like the oil filter/plug/fill, coolant drain, radiator cap, etc.

You should reuse stock hardware when attaching the bodywork to stock brackets. Where you attach the upper to the lower you will need something like Dzus fastners. http://kurveygirl.com/shop/index.php?cP ... 0131c8128b - best place to get them, period. Here's a good post on safety wiring viewtopic.php?f=7&t=645Yell if you need anything else
